Testimonials

Former and current students share their thoughts and experiences about studying at Vox Academy

“Through a group class focused on speech technique, I began to understand the components of good vocal production and the experiential feel of better vocal technique. By the end of the course, my speaking voice was stronger, and I had glimpsed that singing lessons might actually liberate and heal a part of me that had been silenced when I was a young teen.”
“I am continually surprised as my voice grows in strength and beauty.”
“I dearly love the supportive community of compassionate professionals at Vox Academy.”

Kirstin Schumaker, BCSI, LMT

“As a novice with no singing experience but a desire to sing, I feel so lucky to have found Vox Academy. I’ve got dozens and dozens of hurdles to jump, but Diana has brought me graciously to the starting line, with wonderful support, encouragement, and knowledge.”

“Vox Academy’s approach to music is safe, therapeutic, and nurturing. I love my voice lessons at Vox Academy!”
“Because of their holistic way of teaching, it is about so much more than singing. It’s about showing up and being your authentic self with your authentic voice. It’s about standing in your own personal power. It’s about finding your passion.”

“Every class session and private lesson with my instructor at Vox Academy fills me with confidence about my voice.”
"I see myself with new hopeful eyes as a vocalist.”
“I hear my voice do things I never dreamed it could do.”
“In 12 years of previous music study, I never had a teacher so forthcoming with specific constructive observation, expertise, and encouragement. A music teacher who offers all three is a rare and valuable find!”

Jeanna Burrup

The Voice Level 1 course I took made a dramatic difference in my vocal experience. Previously, I had taken a voice class at a public music center. There, I spent the entire time a nervous wreck, trying to squeak out notes when the instructor pointed at me. Now at Vox Academy, I just inhale and let loose, not worrying about the sound, just focusing on releasing the air. I am not nervous and am able to sing with much more confidence. Thank you so much for giving me these new tools for self-expression.
