Sarah Brooks

Sarah Brooks is the lead female singer with Portland’sSweet Home Folk-Rock band. She’s also starred with The Musical Theater Company, and with Solovox at the Portland Art Museum.

Sarah has had lead roles with the well-known NYC Off-Broadway Light Opera of Manhattan, with New England Lyric Operetta, and chorus roles with CT Grand Opera and NY Tri-Cities Opera.  She was soprano soloist with MasterSingers in Connecticut and with Bard Community Choir in NY.  Her BA from Bard College is in Voice/ Dance/ Drama where she enjoyed many lead operatic roles.

Sarah has also studied with master voice teachers: Oren Brown, Arthur Burrows, Luis Garcia Renart, and David Clatworthy.

After completing Certification with the Transformational Voice Institute’s voice teacher intensive one-year training with Linda Brice, Sarah says: “Through this rigorous certification process, I am proud to call myself a Certified Transformational Voice Teacher!  I’ve discovered a big bag of marvelous tools to help awaken my students’ most true and beautiful voice! Anyone can sing!!  As we let go of our ideals of perfection and judgement, we can explore singing with curiosity and freedom!  Whether a true beginner who sings only in the shower, or a performer who’d like some helpful tips and tune-ups ... learning to free your unique, authentic voice is a wonderfully therapeutic and liberating process!”

Sarah loves teaching and offers private voice lessons for all levels, ages, and musical styles.  Her students have described her lessons as:  fun, encouraging, unique, helpful, energizing, break-through, transformative, and brilliant!
